A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE REUNION....PRE-REUNION HIGHLIGHTS
July 18: New York
12 intrepid members of the HR Class of 1978 made it across bridges and tunnels and avenues to midtown for dinner at the Harvard Club of New York (July 18), where a special menu had been prepared to tempt us. Although many of us did not know each other before, from the moment we met near the bar, to when we shut the restaurant down, conversation flowed freely. It was a group including internationalists, historians, conversationalists. We were micro-biologists, lawyers, editors, educators, and more. I met Betsy Gootrad – who turned out to have been at the American School of Paris before me, and to have many dear friends in common! The size of the group was ideal, we had gender balance, and were age-relaxed. I think everyone left having had a good time! Many are coming to the reunion, including one or two who were not so sure beforehand.
