Introduction to Qigong

(A gentle derivative of Kung Fu)

Thursday, June 1

7:30 AM

Introduction to Qigong (an offshoot of Kung Fu that promotes and cultivates balance, flexibility, longevity and Qi (life force) circulation).

Classmate and 50+ year Kung Fu expert Miles Grody will lead an easy 1-hour warmup and flexibility class that all should be able to do.  This simple yet profound exercise routine, which can be completed in 15-20 minutes after a couple weeks of practice, improves quality of life and forestalls injuries and aging if practiced daily.

Meet up in the ‘quad’ between Malkin Athletic Center (MAC - the Indoor Athletic Building in our day), Kirkland, Eliot, Winthrop, and Lowell Houses.  In the event of foul weather, we will try to find space in the MAC.

Please RSVP to Miles (milesgrody@gmail.com) to let him know you are coming.  Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and do not expect to work up a major sweat.  (You may sweat a bit and consequently wish to bring a spare T-shirt, hoodie, or jacket.) Miles can send you a video if you would like to preview the exercise routine.
